Information about the euro changeover and planned activities plays a significant role in the currency exchange process. Timely information helps to avoid unnecessary concerns, time consumption, for example, when exchanging cash.

To ensure information of society it is planned to organize public awareness campaign with commercials on radio, TV, Internet and in press, preparation of informative materials, publishing and dissemination of different brochures etc. This home page www.eiro.lv is also one of elements of public awareness campaign.

Getting closer to the euro changeover day the request for information receipt and dissemination will increase. Journalists are particularly welcomed to participate in the public information process about the euro changeover because mass media both provides general public with information and reflects on and creates public attitude and opinions.
