Latvia's National Euro Changeover Plan

Latvia's National Euro Changeover Plan is aimed at identifying the key Euro Implementation Project tasks in Latvia, their implementation stages and spheres of accountability as well as defining the euro introduction principles and scenario to ensure successful introduction of the euro in both the private and public sectors. The Plan has been elaborated in compliance with the European Union (EU) legislation and the Republic of Latvia laws and regulations.

Latvia's National Euro Changeover Plan SUMMARY

To ensure efficient euro changeover process in Latvia the euro changeover project was developed.

The euro changeover process is monitored by the Latvian government. It is also planned that the euro changeover date will be named by the government. This date will be named at least two years before the planned euro changeover.

The euro changeover action plan is prepared based on current economic situation in Latvia and updated on regular basis or amended if needed. This is done by working groups involved in the project under the supervision of the Euro Project Manager.
